This mission had two main objectives: (1) to seek collaboration with local NGOs for the upcoming Qurban projects and (2) to oversee the daily operation of Madrasah Darussalam and facilitate in its management planning. During this mission, NICE managed to meet several NGOs such as Cambodia Care and renew ties with old partners such as Islamic Society of An-Giang, Vietnam. With a fully functioning madrasah and the availability of university graduated activists, some of which studied in Malaysia, future prospect in Vietnam is very bright.

During the recent earthquake in Nepal, MyCARE had responded immediately by launching a fundraising campaign in collaboration with Econsave Cash & Carry and sending 3 humanitarian missions to help reduced Nepalis sufferings. Our missions focus primarily on providing food supplies, offering medical services and conducting psychosocial training and therapies.

A task force was set-up led by Dr Mohamed Ikram Mohamed Salleh who has vast experiences in humanitarian works. He led the assessment team during our 1st mission to Nepal from 7th – 10th May 2015. Information from the assessment team was crucial in preparing the movement for our 2nd (12-19 May) and 3rd missions (17-25 May).

Overall, MyCARE Mission to Nepal (MMN) were successful in distributing food packages to 781 families, providing medical assistance to 409 Nepalis, supplying 10 kg of medicines to a local clinic in Rasuwa and conducting psychosocial trainings and programs for 217 adults and 268 school children respectively. All these was possible due to contributions from our donors and collaborations with local NGOs such as Jagriti Child and Youth Concern (JCYC), Islamic Medical Association of Nepal (IMAN) and Islamic Sangh as well as fellow humanitarian NGOs such as MERCY Malaysia, Malaysian Relief Agency (MRA) and Bulan Sabit Merah Indonesia (BSMI).

MyCARE is looking forward to extend its humanitarian works in Nepal as we moved into rehabilitation phase. The extension is crucial especially with the upcoming monsoon season.

i4Syria (i4S) has been sending missions to Syria and Syrian refugee camps in Jordan and along the Turkish border since 2013; almost as soon as the conflicts in Syria turned into a humanitarian crisis. To date, the prolonged war and atrocities in Syria had left 7.6 million people internally displaced, 3.9 million people become refugees and 12.2 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.

Within 2 years (2013-2014), i4S managed to send RM 3.7 million worth of humanitarian aids to help reduced Syrian sufferings. Focus has been given to supply basic food and blanket especially during the month of Ramadhan and winter season due to high incident of deaths due to starvation and cold weather.

So far, 5 humanitarian missions had been sent to attend Syrian needs and more could be arranged if funds are stably available and the security condition in Syria permits humanitarian aids to enter. Meanwhile, we are doing our utmost to cater the needs of Syrian refugees who are within our reach in Jordan and Lebanon.

Since its inception (2010), Aqsa Syarif has always tried to enter Gaza to send its humanitarian aids. In fact, entering Gaza has been the primary focus of all humanitarian agencies at that time due to the prolonged Israeli blockade (since 2007) and following the ferocious 22 days attacks by Israeli army (Dec 2008-Jan 2009) which turned the humanitarian condition in the coastal enclave from worst to an absolute tragedy.

After the failed attempt with Flotilla Mavi Marmara in May 2010, another attempt was done via land by joining Viva Palestina 5th (VP5) Global Land Convoy in September 2010. After a gruelling 40 days of travelling through England, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Syria and Egypt, the convoy was successful in entering Gaza. This success has been the catalyst that paved the way for subsequent Aqsa Syarif’s missions.

Up until July 2014, Aqsa Syarif had successfully sent 20 missions to Gaza and refugee camps in Lebanon dubbed Aqsa2Gaza (A2G) Mission and Return2Aqsa (R2A) Mission respectively. These included 2 Audit Missions, 3 Ramadhan Missions and 4 Emergency Relief Missions. All these were to make sure that all donations from benefactors reached the deserving beneficiaries.

Unfortunately, since the military coup in Egypt (July 2013), Aqsa Syarif has not been able to send any mission to Gaza. Thankfully we have already established an office in Gaza to assist us with our projects.

The second one is the “International Conference on Reconstruction of Gaza” on 24th January 2015 in collaboration with Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology (MySET) and The Arab and International Commission to Build Gaza (AICBG). This conference is part of a global campaign to raise 1 billion USD to fund gaza reconstruction after the 2014 Israeli aggression on Gaza.
